According to the Association, the disease has no effect when pork is consumed.
The association debunked claims that the meat is unfit for human consumption.
The outbreak of African swine fever among pigs has been recorded in four regions in Ghana.
The Chairman of the Association Samuel La speaking in an interview with Osei Kwadwo said Swine fever outbreak killed 4000 pigs in 2016.
Adjaman and Amakom in the Bosomtwe district, Hemang near Santasi in the Atwima Nwabiagya district, and Tepa in the Ahafo Ano North district are some communities that have been affected by the disease, he said.
Samuel La therefore called on government to compensate farmers who lost their pigs during 2016 Swine fever outbreak.
