Tall-lanky Black Stars striker Raphael Dwamena is full of joy and ecstasy for having the opportunity to play alongside captain Asamoah Gyan for the first time in the national team.
Dwamena, 21, enjoyed his full international debut with the Black Stars on Sunday against Ethiopia in the 2019 AFCON Qualifier, and showed his goal poaching instinct by capping it with a brace.
The FC Zurich attacker described Gyan as the best striker in the world and a great opportunity and feeling for him to partner the former Sunderland striker as he reaches a milestone of 50 goals for the national team.
“I never dreamt of it [playing with Asamoah Gyan] but God has made it a reality. It was a pleasure to play under him for the first time and being selected to play in the first eleven – playing with one of the best strikers in the world. It’s a pleasure to play with Gyan,” Dwamena exclusively told Ultimate FM.
“There are a lot of things ahead of me. I just have to keep my head up high and keep working hard and I know with God I will reach my destination,” he added.
The Black Stars will resume camping ahead of their friendly games against Mexico and the United States of America.
