Controversial Chief Executive Officer of Slip Music, Mark Okraku Mantey has described the ‘enemies’ hit maker Jupitar as the best dancehall artiste in the country.
According to him, he will choose Jupitar over self-acclaimed dancehall artiste Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr popularly called Shatta Wale, Emmanuel Andrews Samini a.k.a Samini and Livingstone Etse Satekla known as Stonebwoy.
The entertainment critic said Stonebwoy seems to have shifted lately from dancehall to reggae and that he cannot pass for the best dancehall artiste remarking that he is doing well with his career.
Speaking with Kwabena Anokye Adisi popularly called ‘Bola Ray’ on Starr Chat, the Executive Producer for ‘Efiewura’ explained that Jupitar has been consistent with his line of songs which is in tune with dancehall.
‘Surprisingly, Shatta Wale calls himself a dancehall king, but go through his songs, for the past two to three years, the young man has not been doing dancehall. So it becomes difficult, but if you ask me, I think I like Jupitar. Stonebwoy is doing well but he is not a hard core dancehall artiste, he is not doing dancehall, he’s doing reggae. Bola you know with brands if you dilute it, it becomes difficult telling people where you belong. Jupitar has been consistent where he is,’ he stated.
Juxtaposing Kwame Ametepee Tsikata a.k.a M.anifest to Michael Owusu Addo popularly called Sarkodie, he remarked that he admires the talent the latter possesses but likes the former’s songs.
He dispelled allegations that he has grudges with Sarkodie.
‘Those of you who do not know, Sarkodie has always being my man, I love talent, one thing I like about him is how he gets and manages to use his words, it will take me ten years to come up with some of the words, I really get disappointed when he gets carried away. He knows I like him and I wish he could become the best, I always wish he doesn’t veer into profane words. Sarkodie raps well but I enjoy M.anifest because he uses clean words at his advantage and for me I love clean lyrics,’ he explained.
