Floyd Mayweather Jr. has given his three-year-old grandson, Kentrell Gaulden Jr., a Christmas gift worth $20 million, setting him up for life.
Mayweather decided to give his daughter Iyanna's son an incredible $20 million building in New York City instead of the usual toys, video games, and electronics many youngsters receive during the festive period.
The property, located on 6th Avenue and 47th Street in Manhattan, includes office spaces, a diamond exchange, and a large billboard that generates income. This ensures that his grandson will be well-provided financially in the future.
Speaking about the purchase, Mayweather said:
I used to shop in the diamond exchange when I was younger. I never imagined owning this significant property at the entrance to 47th Street... Through hard work and dedication, anything is possible.
Mayweather also shared a video on Instagram showing the moment Gaulden Jr. learned about his extravagant gift. The boxing legend told his grandson, “I got you a gift. Guess what I bought you? You’re the first kid to own a building in the diamond district of New York City.”
Gaulden Jr. smiled and embraced his grandfather. Mayweather, who retired in 2017 with an undefeated record of 50-0 and career earnings of $1.2 billion, began his boxing career in 1996, winning his first world title just two years later.
Brief profile of Mayweather
He has won 15 major world titles in five different weight classes, from super featherweight to light middleweight. Mayweather has four children: Jirah, Zion, Iyanna, and Koraun.
The unbeaten boxing champion welcomed kids Koraun and Zion with his late ex-girlfriend Josie Harris before daughter Jirah arrived.
Iyanna, the mother of the kid he bought the house for, was given birth to by his former girlfriend, Melissa Brim.
