- NBC host Megyn Kelly slammed President Donald Trump for commenting on sexual misconduct allegations against Sen. Al Franken.
- Trump has been accused of varying degrees of sexually inappropriate behavior by over a dozen women.
- Kelly also had some harsh words for Alabama Senate candidate Roy Moore, who chimed in with his own assessment of the accusation against Franken.
- At least nine women have publicly accused Moore of unwanted sexual advances.
Megyn Kelly, the host of NBC's "Megyn Kelly Today," took to the airwaves Friday morning to lay into President Donald Trump for commenting on the sexual misconduct claim against Sen. Al Franken of Minnesota.
Radio personality Leeann Tweeden accused Franken of forcefully kissing her without her consent while they were rehearsing for a skit they performed for US troops.
Tweeden spoke out about the alleged incident in a column published last week, and also posted a photo which appeared to show Franken groping her breasts while she was sleeping on the flight home from a USO tour in 2006. He issued an apology after Tweeden's column was published and called for an independent ethics investigation.
Trump lambasted Franken, who has frequently criticized him, shortly after the accusations against the senator emerged.
"The Al Frankenstien picture is really bad, speaks a thousand words," he tweeted. "Where do his hands go in pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while she sleeps?"
"And to think that just last week he was lecturing anyone who would listen about sexual harassment and respect for women. Lesley Stahl tape?" he added.
Kelly slammed Trump, who has been accused of varying degrees of sexual misconduct by more than a dozen women, for commenting on the allegations against Franken.
"Who that has been accused of sexual assault would have the gall to preach to others about sexual misconduct?" Kelly said. "How infuriating that would be. How tone deaf, Mr. President."
Trump's tweet also drew condemnation from Gretchen Carlson, the former Fox News host who went public with allegations of sexual misconduct against Roger Ailes, the network's former CEO, in 2016.
In response to Trump's question about where Franken's hands may have gone in "pictures 2, 3, 4, 5 & 6 while [Tweeden] sleeps," Carlson wrote, "What about yours?"
She was likely referencing comments Trump made on a leaked Access Hollywood tape, in which he talked about kissing and groping women without their consent.
"When you’re a star, they let you do it," Trump said on the tape. "You can do anything ... grab 'em by the p---y. You can do anything."
On Friday, Kelly also had some harsh words for Roy Moore, who is currently in the running for an Alabama Senate seat. At least nine women have accused Moore of sexual misconduct, many of whom say they were teenagers when the alleged incidents took place.
Moore tweeted about what he saw as a discrepancy in the response allegations against Franken received compared to those leveled against him.
"Roy Moore!" Kelly said incredulously after reading out the candidate's tweet. "Hello, Roy!"
"The allegations against Moore, which go back decades and which Moore's campaign has insisted are politically motivated, range from unwanted pursuit to groping to assault," Kelly said. "So is this guy going to be our next senator?"
Moore has consistently denied the allegations against him and railed against Republican lawmakers who have called on him to withdraw from the race amid the controversy.
"We could soon have, not one, but two sitting US senators accused of sexual assault, not to mention our president," Kelly said. "Fear not, women of America. All is well. It's fine."
