Dancehall artiste Etse Satekla aka Stonebwoy has backed calls for decriminalisation of marijuana cultivation, also known as weed.

There has been raging debate on the need for the legalisation of weed in Ghana so as to cultivate some for export and for medicinal purposes.
Speaking to Accra-based Adom FM on the matter, Stonebwoy said decriminalising the cultivation and smoking of weed makes sense.
According to him, it unfair to imprison people who use marijuana for medication, saying the law should be looked at again.

He said: “I believe decriminalising it makes sense [Especially] for medical usage. Those [Countries] that have done that have rules towards it.
"It will be very unfair that when you handle something in a form of drugs, not only marijuana and you are using it for medical purpose yet you are arrested. I believe it isn’t fair, so it should be looked at…”
