Northern Region: MMDAs asked to pay GHC5,000 to sponsor Akufo-Addo’s tour

A letter signed on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister by the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Chief Director, Alhassan Issahaku, directed the assemblies to pay the money before Monday, October 2.

Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies (MMDAs) in the Northern Region have been ordered to pay GHC5,000 to sponsor President Nana Akufo-Addo’s scheduled tour of the region.

A letter signed on behalf of the Northern Regional Minister by the Northern Regional Coordinating Council Chief Director, Alhassan Issahaku, directed the assemblies to pay the money before Monday, October 2.

The letter, dated 29 September, said the money is being taken “to put together the required arrangements for a successful tour of the president between October 6 and 8, 2017."

According to the letter, “Each assembly is required to contribute an amount of five thousand Ghana cedis (GHC5,000) payable by Monday, 2nd October, 2017.”
