Owusu Ali pleaded guilty to the charges pressed against him by the state prosecutors.
A 20-year old will spend 15 years in jail for stealing 15 tubers of yam in Techiman in the Brong Ahafo Region.

His Honour Alexander Greyham sentenced Ali to 15 years imprisonment when he presided over the case at the Techiman Circuit Court on Friday.
According to the prosecutor, Ali was arrested on September 22 on the farm of the complainant.
After a search on the sack he was carrying was done, it was discovered that he had stolen 20 tubers of the yam from the farm of the complainant.

The value of the tubers of the yam is estimated to be GHC80.
