Samira Bawumia recieved a warm welcome by students of Akosombo International School.
Ghanaian politician and the wife of the Vice President of the Republic of the Ghana Republic of Ghana, Samira Bawumia went on a trip to visit her alma-mater, Akosombo International School to talk about creating awareness on breast and cervical cancer.
She was joined alongside surgeons from the Breast Unit and Gynecological Center of the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. The surgeons were participants of the Changing Youth Minds Project.
The Second Lady received a very warm welcome by the students and staff of the school upon arrival.
Present at the talk was the Member of Parliament for Abuakwa North constituency and the Deputy Minister for Women, Children and Social Protection honorable Gifty Twum Ampofo and the general manager for the school, Bevelyn Asamoah was also in attendance.
Samira Bawumia expressed that she visits along with the surgeons from the Breast Unit and Gynecological Center of the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital- members of the Changing Young Minds Project was so as to create awareness on breast and cervical cancer as it is high time women paid particular attention to their health so as to detect these diseases on time and receive the needed treatment.
