For overpricing their own wares, 6 market women in Ahafo Hwidiem have faced the wrath of the angry queen-mother of the area
The paramount queen mother of Ahafo Hwidiem in the Brong Ahafo Region, Nana Ataa Adwoa Agyeiwaa suspended 6 market women for selling four fingers of plantain for 10 Ghana cedis.
Nana Ataa Adwoa Agyeiwaa took action because whilst their counterparts sold the same quantity of plantain for 4 cedis, the 6 had decided to do otherwise and overprice their goods.

The queen mother expressed that many people had lodged complaints about the pricing of the plantain therefore she decided to retaliate after a series of consultations with counsel.
She said she could not fathom how people could price their products at such an exorbitant prices
Speaking to the New Crusading Guide, she said that the area was predominantly a farming community with guests trooping in from various parts of Ghana so to price products this high was an offense.

She clarified that she had no personal vendetta against the sellers she was simply looking out for the welfare of her people and this seemed to be a legitimate concern for the residents on Ahafo Hwidiem.
