Pulse sports takes a look at the seven clubs Asamoah Gyan has played abroad and the goals scored since 2003 when he joined Udinese.
The 31-year-old was signed in 2003 by Udinese, but he was loaned to Modena in the Serie B after just a game.
At Modena Asamoah Gyan featured 54 times and scored 15 goals in the Italian second tier league from the 2003-04 season to the 2004-05 season.
He returned to his parent club in the 2005-06 season and after two seasons he had scored 11 goals in 39 appearances.
Asamoah Gyan after excelling in the Serie A was snapped up by French Ligue 1 side, Rennes in the 2007-08 football season and would spend two and half seasons there. He played 53 games and scored 14 goals for the French side.
Sunderland swooped Asamoah Gyan in the January transfer window of the 200-11 season. The Black Stars skipper played 37 games and scored 11 goals in the process for the then English Premier League side.
After the first half of the 2011-12 season Gyan made a shocking move from the English Premier League to the UAE topflight league where he was offered a good deal by Al Ain.
The former Liberty Professionals marksman spent three and half seasons in the UAE Professional League and bagged 113 goals 104 appearances, winning the top scorer’s award in the league for three consecutive seasons.
Asamoah Gyan after an incredible career in the gulf region received a mega deal from the Chinese Super League, singing for Shanghai SIPG.
But he couldn’t leave up to the billing due to injuries. Gyan managed just 26 appearances and scored eight (8) goals.
Asamoah Gyan went for a season long loan with Al Ahly Dubai in a return to the UAE league. He has registered six (6) goals in 14 games.
