Kwame Ampadu, father of new Chelsea signing Ethan Ampadu, is the first Ghanaian to play for Arsenal in the English Premier League.
Arsenal have been lucky enough throughout the years to have had some amazing African players at the club, many have been successful and many have not had much success in their time at the Emirates or Highbury.
One of the players is Kwame Ampadu - the first Ghanaian to represent the Gunners.

Who is he?
Born in Bradford, England, to a Ghanaian father and an Irish mother, Ampadu undertook his primary and secondary education at O'Connell's School in Dublin where his schoolmates included future footballers Eoin Hand, Ray Treacy and Jeff Kenna. At a young age he took up the sport of hurling but thereafter found himself to be quite proficient at football as well.
Playing career
Ampadu first played in Irish youth football for Sherrard United and Belvedere before joining Arsenal in July 1988. He played just two games for Arsenal in two years. Ampadu made his debut for the Gunners in a 3-1 win away to Derby County on 24 March 1990.
He went on to have spells being loaned out to Plymouth Argyle and West Bromwich Albion the following season, before making a permanent move to the latter in June 1991.
Ampadu spent three years at West Bromwich Albion before moving to Swansea City in February 1994. He played in Swansea City's 1994 Football League Trophy win at Wembley.
Managerial career
He returned to Arsenal in 2012 from Exeter City, where he enjoyed a successful spell as Under-18s coach after completing a long and varied playing career.
He is currently in charge of Arsenal U18 side.
His son Ethan Ampadu is a footballer who just signed for Chelsea.
