
People have been evacuated from the shopping centre just hours after a terrorist detonated a bomb in the nearby Manchester Arena.
A man has been arrested in the Arndale Centre shopping centre in central Manchester, just hundreds of metres away from where a terrorist detonated a bomb in the Manchester Arena on Monday evening.
The unidentified man was escorted away from the shopping centre by policy shortly after 11:00 (BST).
Hundreds of people were evacuated from the complex in central Manchester. The shopping centre has now been re-opened, according to Reuters.
The Manchester Evening News says the incident at the Arndale Centre this morning was not connected to the Manchester Arena terror attack but arrests relating to last night's attack are being made across the city.
ITV correspondent Daniel Hewitt reported hundreds of people fled the shopping centre complex shouting "run run" amid panic and confusion.
He tweeted: "Panic in Manchester as hundreds of people run down the street away from the Arndale Centre shouting 'run run'."

The Arndale Centre is less than half a mile away from the Manchester Arena where 22 people, including children, were killed on Monday evening.
