The new Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Techiman Mr. John Donyina has on Monday 22nd May, 2017 officially resumed duty. This was after he was endorsed on the 15th of May, 2017 by the Assembly Members of the Techiman Assembly and sworn-in to office by the Brong Ahafo Regional Minister on the 18th of May. He took the Oath of Secrecy and Allegiance.
On his arrival to the Assembly to officially resume work, he was welcome by the Management of the Assembly led by the Municipal Co-ordinating Director for Techiman Assembly Mr. I.K. Acheampong with heads of departments.
The Member of Parliament (MP) for Techiman South Hon. Henry Yiadom Boakye advised the MCE to take the word “diligence” as his watchful word and that he should use due processes in executing his duties. He urged him not to rush in performing some of his duties. He also called on the staff of the Assembly to ensure that they were available all the time to discharge their duties. He also advised the Assembly engineer’s department and the staff to ensure due diligence in executing projects in the Municipality to ensure value for money.
The Presiding Hon. Ofosu Korsah on the behalf of the Assembly Members said they were ready to support the MCE deliver on his Mandate. He also called on the staff of the Assembly to be supportive and cooperative to the MCE to enable him discharged his duties.
Mr. I.K. Acheampong, the Co-cordinating Director for the Assembly assured him that staff of the Assembly was poised to support the new MCE to deliver on his mandate. Some of the heads of departments took turns to brief the new MCE on the job.
