A total of 44 personnel, including two directors of the Ghana Prisons Service, have been promoted by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
Pursuant to Article 207(3) of the 1992 Constitution, two senior officers- Mr. Sylvester Kojo Badu Rabbles, Director of Prisons in charge of Operations and Agriculture and Mrs. Josephine Fredua-Agyeman, Director of Prisons in charge of Welfare have been promoted to the posts of Deputy Director-General in charge of Operations and Deputy Director-General in charge of Administration, respectively.
According to a statement signed by Chief Public Relations Officer, Supt. Vitalis Aiyeh, the President has also promoted two deputy directors; Isaac Kofi Egyir, the Eastern Regional Prisons Commander and Nelson Basubinin Duut, the Ashanti Regional Prisons Commander to Director of Prisons.
The statement noted that the promotions took effect on December 1, 2018.
