Controversies surrounding 'Number Twelve', a documentary by investigative journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his Tiger Eye Private Investigative team on corruption in football is yet to die down.
In the latest reaction to the explosive revelations, a Journalist, Mohammed Amin Lamptey, who attacked the methodology used by Anas and his investigative team, has accused him of depriving many homes of their daily bread.
The former spokesperson of the Ghana Boxing Authority told Happy FM's Odiasempa Kwame Oware that the undercover journalist through his questionable and non-journalistic practices has broken homes and brought unnecessary pains to many people.
He particularly made reference to the plight of referees who have been dismissed or suspended, former President of the Ghana Football Association Kwesi Nyantakyi, judges and some officials of the Ghana Football Association.
Mr. Amin Lamptey who is also the former Deputy Communication Director of the Hajj Board questioned why Anas and his Tiger Eye team could cause many people to lose what he says are their legitimate livelihood through the expose.
"Today, how many referees have lost their job? How many people have lost their jobs as judges and referees? How many people have lost whatever that they have? Do you know how many people who rely on Kwesi Nyantakyi for survival?
"The referee who lost the work, do you know how many people rely on them for school fees and survival? The judges who have lost their jobs, because of questionable exposè, do you know how many of them who cannot take care of their families?" he asked.
His comments come after world governing body for football, FIFA, provisionally suspended President of Ghana FA, Kwesi Nyantakyi for 90 days.
Mr. Nyantakyi also resigned from his posts as President, First Vice President of CAF and WAFU zone B chairmanship on June 8, 2018.
Eleven top African referees captured in the video were also handed bans by CAF for breaching the code of ethics.
Ten more Ghanaian referees were slapped with an interim suspension.
They include Reginald Lethbridge, Samuel Sukah, Eric Nantieri, among others.
Mr. Amin had earlier told the host of attempts by his Eminence, the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr. Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu sought to meet Anas Aremeyaw and ex-President of Ghana FA who are all Muslims in an attempt to shelve the exposé.
According to him, some of the officials at the Ghana Football Association captured in the video did not receive any bribe as suggested by Anas Aremeyaw and the Tiger Eye PI team.
"How could you call this an evidence when a very poor person, a young person as a masseur [a person who provides massage professionally] of one of the national team working, somebody goes to him and say that hold this money for me I am coming and in the next two minutes you go and within next 10, 20 minutes you come back for the money, video was taken and this guy was taken and this guy was said to have collected bribe?," he said.
Meanwhile, government says it is discontinuing with the liquidation of the Ghana Football Association.
This is in fulfilment of an agreement signed with the Internationale de Football Association (FIFA) on August 16, 2018 to give way to normalisation committee to replace Ghana FA's Executive Committee.
