Accra Hearts of Oak communications director Opare Addo has applauded Asante Kotoko for their ninth MTN FA Cup win and congratulated them as champions.
Asante Kotoko won the trophy following a 3-1 victory over the Phobians on Sunday.
“I think it’s important for us to congratulate Kotoko for this victory. On the day, they took their chances and all three goals you cannot fault the referee. We couldn’t clear our lines and we have to admit we lost because we were not up to the task”.
He said the players were not complacent and also refused to accept that the occasion got to them.
“The occasion wasn’t too much for us. We prepared very well but this is football, you prepare well and in the game dynamics can change. The early goal kind of destructed our focus and we were never able to get back to our actual selves to get the win we wanted”
Opare Addo furthermore said for post season, the management will look at the team and make analysis. They will discuss squad additions and other important issues to improve the club.
To conclude, he said Coach Frank Nutall has a two year contract and he will be available next season.
