LAFC are ready to offer Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a route out of Chelsea.
Aubameyang was a shock omission from Graham Potter’s squad for the Champions League knockout stages last week.
MLS outfit LAFC are among the sides to have shown interest in Aubameyang since and productive talks have taken place between the two clubs.
While moving Aubameyang on may suit Chelsea and help ease their wage bill after making eight January signings the striker has yet to make a decision on his future.
Aubameyang has 18 months left on his Chelsea contract, having signed an initial two-year deal when he joined from Barcelona last summer.
FIFA rules would prevent Aubameyang playing for a third club who play in a division with a calendar that runs alongside most of the European leagues.
That scuppered Atletico Madrid’s hopes of signing Aubameyang in January and those of clubs in Turkey who have also registered interest in the 33-year-old in the last week, with their transfer window still open.
However, with the new MLS campaign starting later this month LAFC, 2022 cup winners wh
have lost marquee name Gareth Bale from their squad following his retirement, would be free to sign Aubameyang. Clubs in Asia are also weighing up moves.
LAFC are thought to be considering numerous options to try and make a deal for Aubameyang work including a loan.
That would leave the option of a summer move to one of the European sides still a possibility for Aubameyang.
His former clubs AC Milan and Barcelona, plus Atletico are among the major European clubs monitoring developments with Aubameyang ahead of potential bids at the end of the season. —MailOnline Sports
