TUDEC Development Centre, a Turkish non-governmental organisation based in Accra, last Friday donated a portable dental delivery unit/chair to the Dental Division of the 37 Military Hospital in Accra.
The unit valued at GH¢9, 000 was to support the department with modern dental equipment in order to ensure smooth treatment of patients.
The dental delivery unit is an air or electric powered instruments controlled by dentist during dental care at the hospital.
Presenting the chair to the hospital, the President of TUDEC, Cafer Tepel said his outfit was happy to support the hospital for its immense contribution to the delivery of Healthcare in the country.
He said the 37 Military Hospital had some very good doctors and as a result of it being a public facility, a lot more Ghanaians visited the facility regularly, putting pressure on their equipment.
Mr Tepel said in line with their organisational goal which was people-centered, TUDEC offered to support the facility to enable a lot more people to receive dental care in the country.
On his part, the Officer in-charge of the Dental Division of the hospital, Colonel Halidu Salifu, said the donation of the dental delivery unit could not have come at a better time than now.
He said the dental delivery unit was a very important equipment for the delivery of quality dental care and would go a long way to help their operations.
Colonel Salifu who received the equipment on behalf of the Commander of the 37 Military Hospital, Brigadier General Azumah Bugri, said the unit would be put to a very good use.
He expressed the hope that other benevolent organisations would take a cue from TUDE’s gesture and support the hospital to deliver on its mandate.
