The National
Democratic Congress (NDC) has opened nominations in the Ashaiman Constituency
in the Greater Accra Region and 20 Constituencies in the Ashanti Region for
prospective aspirants to contest the forthcoming parliamentary primaries from
Monday November 18 to Wednesday November 20, 2019.
The aspirants are expected to pick their
nomination forms from Monday November 18, 2019 to Wednesday November 20, 2019
in accordance with Article 41(1) of the NDC Constitution.
In a statement issued in Accra, the Functional
Executive Committee (FEC) in consultation with the Ashanti Regional Executive
Committee of the NDC announced the notice of elections for the conduct of parliamentary
primary elections in 20 constituencies in the Ashanti Region in accordance with
Article 41(1) of the NDC constitution.
“Nominations
will open for three days from Monday November 18, 2019 to Wednesday November
20, 2019 including filing of nomination on November 25, vetting of aspirants on
November 26 and 27 with elections to be held on December 14, which also applies
for the other electoral activities and all stakeholders and interested persons
should take note and comply accordingly.
“The constituencies
in the Ashanti Region are Atwima Nwabiagya North, Atwima Nwabiagya South,
Afigya Kwabre North, Kwabre East, Obuasi East, Obuasi West, Adansi Akrofuom,
Manso Adubia, Bekwai and Nsuta Kwaman Beposo.
The rest are Afigya Sekyere East, Kumawu, Effiduase Asokore, Bosome Freho, Asante Akim South, Asante Akim North, Asante Akim Central, Ejisu, Oforikrom and Bantama,” the statement said. -ghanaweb.com
