The Overseer of the Mataheko Branch of Christ Empire Church, Prophet Charles Kwabena Boateng, has advised couples struggling with issues of childbirth to consider adoption to improve their chances of a breakthrough and to reduce stress.
Prophet Boateng gave the advice when the church presented provisions worth GH¢3,500.00 to the Nectar Foundation, an orphanage at Nuaso near Dodowa.
The items included rice, sugar, biscuits, crates of eggs, milk, indomie noodles, soaps, toilet rolls, soft drinks, bottled water, clothes, footwear and plastic bowls.
Prophet Boateng cited the examples of Sarah, Rebekah and Rachel in the Bible who overcame childlessness through prayers, faithfulness to God and caring for other children.
He urged society to take good care of widows, orphans and make the welfare of the vulnerable a priority, so that Ghana would be prosperous.
The donation followed a 21-day prayer and fasting programme dubbed, “Beginning well, ending great”, embarked on by the church at the beginning of the year to ensure peace and tranquility in the country.
Receiving the items, proprietress of Nectar Foundation, Ms Frederica Akosua Akuffo, thanked the church for the gesture and prayed for God’s blessings for its members.
According to the proprietress, the orphanage has 36 children aged three and 22 years; “out of the number four are pursuing tertiary education while seven others are at senior high school.”
Ms Akuffo said they operated in a rented accommodation and therefore had a challenge paying for the rent and the school fees of inmates.
She, therefore, appealed to philanthropists, churches and corporate bodies for support.
The orphanage was established 17 years ago by the late Presbyterian Minister Rev. Felix K. A. Anyaso.
