Dr Yaw Baah-TUC Boss
The Trades Union Congress (TUC), yesterday urged the government to provide the security agencies with the necessary resources to enable them to track down criminals.
It also asked the government to ensure high quality security service was provided to all persons living in the country.
This is contained in a statement issued by the TUC, and copied the Ghanaian Times condemning the murder of investigative reporter, Ahmed Hussein Suale, a member of the Tiger Eye PI.
The statement signed by the TUC Secretary General, Dr Yaw Baah, expressed great concern about the reporter, adding, “We are gravely concerned about the murder of Ahmed, given the heroic role he played in exposing the corruption in the society.”
“We are also concerned because such heinous crimes are generating a sense of insecurity among the people of Ghana especially those who genuinely want to help eradicate corruption in the country,” it added.
The TUC also recalled the recent gruesome murder of the public affairs manager of the GPHA, Mrs Josephine Asante and equally the murder of Mr J. B, Danquah Adu among others.
“It is unfortunate that these crimes have been subjected to emotional discussions in the media and partisan politics, as the Ghana Police Service is working very hard to track down the coward perpetrators.
“The sense of insecurity these crimes are generating in our society is having very negative consequences not only psychologically but also socially and economically,” it added.
