The semi-finals of the second edition of Unilever Minigolf Schools competition will be played tomorrow at the Ridge Sport City Accra and Kumasi Technical University with 96 students drawn from the two regions action.
The Accra event will draw 52 students while the Kumasi event is expected to attract 42 students, all battling for a place in the grand finale.
Schools including G.I.S, Al-Ryan, Ridge Church School, Pat Academy, D.P.S, Galaxy International, Jack and Jill, Lycee Francais and Aggrey Memorial School will compete in the18-hole course in Accra with the likes of Mother Smith International, Kubinson International, Salem Montessori, Modern International and Pentecostal International schools to thrill patrons in Kumasi.
Each student will be engaged in individual play with scores computed electronically into the Ghana Minigolf Federation’s database.
According to the organisers, the aim of the competition is to promote minigolf amongst students and forms part of the Federation’s objective to make the sport a household name in the country.
Winners of the competition could compete in next year’s Minigolf Continental Youth Championship.
