Mr Appiah-Mensah
A leading member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Brong-Ahafo, Debbie Appiah-Mensah, has observed that most of the social intervention programmes being implemented by the government will be fruitful from 2019.
He urged the citizenry to be patient, exercise restraint and hopeful for better socio-economic living conditions and called on the government to shun her critics, detractors and concentrate in re-building a better Ghana.
Mr. Appiah-Mensah noted that discerning citizens were aware it had been tough for the government to bring the economy back on course to spur rapid socio-economic growth and development.
In an interview in Sunyani, he observed that in the spiritual perspective, it took unwavering faith for a promise of God to be fulfilled in one’s life, and that required complete patience, if Ghanaians could witness remarkable improvement in their socio-economic livelihoods.
Mr Appiah-Mensah, a former Brong-Ahafo Regional Organiser of the NPP, likened the President’s administration to “the biblical New Testament concept that requires absolute patience to see the realisation of God’s promises in one’s life.
“The National Democratic Congress (NDC) government under former President John Mahama left the economy in a “messy” situation thus, making it difficult for Akufo-Addo-led administration to resuscitate and build on it.
“We want to remind the president his government is threading on good path and aware it has not been easy, but we are hopeful with time, Ghanaians will understand him better and support the government to succeed.
“The Free Senior High School programmes, Nation Builders Corps, Planting for Food and Jobs and the restoration of nurses and teachers allowances alone are achievements of the government.
“The 2020 electioneering campaign begins next year, advise the hierarchy of the party to settle all differences, wrangling, internal squabbles for a unified front so as to retain power in 2020, the need to strengthen party structures and adequately resource polling station and constituency executives.
“We must work hard, search, identify, embrace all defectors, disgruntled members, bring them on board to promote vigorous electioneering since the party is achieving on its promises which requires selling them to the electorate, bring hope to the citizenry devoid of peddling lies, making the government unpopular and influence voting masses,” Mr Appiah-Mensah underscored. -GNA
