EDITOR of the British Vogue Magazine, Edward Enninful has urged the government of Ghana to invest and support the creative arts and fashion industry in the country.
He said it was only through the support of government that the industry would grow and attain its proper place in society.
Mr Enninful said this yesterday when he interacted with players in the industry in Accra.
He was of the view that arts and fashion was improving in the country.
According to Mr Enninful, there was the need to have schools and teachers who were well vexed in the industry to train Ghanaians as well as have programmes with fashion institutions outside the country.
He explained that there was also the need for the schools to adopt international curriculum to make it easy for people in the industry to have internship at some fashion institutions abroad.
This, he said would enable the industry players to acquire skills and learn more, adding that “great designers intern outside.”
The editor said it was also time for designers to network among themselves in order to learn from each other.
He urged them not to sacrifice quality because; “the best never sacrifice on quality.”
Mr Enninful urged people in the industry to accept it when they fail, saying he has attained success because of the mistakes he made in life.
He also advised players in the industry to have mentors to navigate their professional lifestyles.
