Pogba
PAUL Pogba admits he may have to change his approach to penalties after his missed spot kick against Everton.
The Frenchman admits he got ‘lucky’ after Jordan Pickford saved his spot kick before slotting home the rebound.
It is the second time this season that the questionable run-up has cost United and himself after he was thwarted by Joe Hart at Turf Moor.
Jose Mourinho has urged the midfielder to change his run-up, which contained a staggering 26 steps, and it seems Pogba has got the message.
“I was lucky,” he said. “The most important thing is it went in and I scored the goal, good for us and me.
“I always try and destabilise the keeper, maybe they know how I take penalties, maybe I should practise to change it if the keepers know my step.”
Despite nearly costing Manchester United a vital goal, Mourinho was full of praise for Pogba.
“Pogba is a better penalty taker than myself,” he said. “I admire players who have the courage to take them.
“He wants to take them. Maybe he has to change his approach but I don’t want him to change his mental approach. The keeper is also a good penalty saver so let’s give credit to him.” – Eurosport
