Mountcrest University College in Accra last week Saturday held its eighth matriculation ceremony for 92 Bachelor of Law (LLB) students.
This followed the lifting of an embargo on the university by the National Accreditation Board last year, thus preventing it from admitting new students.
Mr. Kwaku Ansa-Asare, the Rector of MUC in a speech read for him by Ms. Irene Ansa-Asare Horsham, the Deputy Rector noted that the lifting of the embargo was welcoming news as it gave the school the opportunity to enroll law students.
“This matriculation ceremony is particularly significant as it marks the first intake of law students since the National Accreditation Board announced to the public in January that MCU was to cease admission of fresh students into its law programmes.
He said MCU would continue to offer quality tuition to churn out the best law students to help build the country’s democracy.
Mr. Ansa-Asare said MCU graduates were the best, adding that 76 out of the 460 LLB graduates who sat for the entrance examinations conducted by the Ghana Law School were offered admission.
According to him, MCU first batch of students that pursued professional law course scored hundred per cent and were called to the bar.
Mr. Ansa-Asare urged the fresh students to take their studies serious so as to pursue further studies.
In a welcome address, Reverend Delali Akati, the Registrar of the School congratulated the students for choosing MUC and advised them to obey the rules and regulations of the university.
