The United Cadre Front (UCF) has asked aspirants vying for the upcoming national executive positions and presidential candidate aspirants to be decorous before, during and after campaigns for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to remain united for the 2020 elections.
“As a major stakeholder in the NDC we have immense interest in the activities of the party and we appeal to the delegates and aspirants to remain united so that after the internal elections the party will focus to strategise effectively and attract the electorate to vote the NDC back to power in 2020.
“We implore all contestants for both elections to be decorous in their public pronouncement before, during and after the campaign and also check excessive statements and utterances that will disturb the beauty of democracy,” the UCF said in a statement issued in Tema.
“We are a family and what we say to each other in the heat of the campaign should not injure the party and be used by our opponents in the 2020 polls so all contestants who may not be successful in their bids should be co-opted into various working committees to serve in the party at various capacities and levels.
“The UCF is committed to party unity and trust that the collective effort of all individuals, party organs and supporters can guarantee victory for NDC in 2020 through a cogent and coherent party-cadre relationship.
“The party must make a conscious and deliberate effort to highlight all administrative and political weaknesses of the government, capitalise on same as the UCF puts its house in order to support the NDC recapture power in 2020,” the statement said.
