The Accra Regional Police Command has begun investigations into the murder of a woman at Ashongman Estates in Accra, on Tuesday.
The deceased, identified as Salomey Perdison, 38, trader, and a mother of four, was found in a pool of blood, with bruises all over the body in the room.
The Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the Accra Police Command, Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Effia Tenge, confirmed the tragedy to the Ghanaian Times in Accra yesterday.
She said on July 17, at about 4.30p.m, the police received information that someone was found dead in a room at the Ashongman Estates.
DSP Tenge said when the police went to the scene, they found the deceased in a pool of blood, and a pinch bar, believed to have been used for the murder, beside the body.
She said the body was conveyed to the Police Hospital mortuary.
The Police PRO said so far no arrest had been made, and urged the public to volunteer information on the murder to the police to enhance investigation.
“Crime prevention is a shared responsibility, we all need to collaborate with the police to address the crime wave in the country,” she said.
