A Political Science Lecturer at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), Kumasi, Dr Amakye Boateng has revealed that he is aware defeat is awaiting him in the 2020 presidential election but will still contest the slot to give it an image.
The Independent Presidential hopeful has been making news recently after he declared his intention on running in the 2020 election.
“Am not in to make a mockery of myself, am not delusional but seeking to give ‘mental imagery’ about what Ghana can become to Ghanaians in future.
“My decision is to engage ‘those at the top’, make Ghanaians understand who we are, the real challenges, its potentials, its resources and the ultimate challenge being national leadership,” Dr Boateng indicated and cited the 1979 revolution as a moral basis for his conviction to contest for the presidential slot though confident that he would lose.
“2020 I will contest as an independent presidential candidate, and my running mate, technically, will come from the Volta Region.
“As somebody from Ashanti Region, my running mate will come from the Volta Region the stronghold of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“Both the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the NDC have failed to deliver on their mandate to ameliorate the living standards of the ordinary Ghanaian who is still living below the daily minimum wage and it is time the electorates vote against them.
“Akufo-Addo and John Mahama have failed and I think Ghanaians should not give them another chance to rule the country”.
“The NDC have taken people in the Volta Region for granted and the NPP same in Ashanti Region for the period of years they ruled and people in these regions should not give them another chance”, Dr Boateng admonished. –mynewsgh.com
