The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Kintampo North, Mr. Michael Sarkodie Baffoe, has made donations to Persons with Disability (PWDs) in the Municipality.
Addressing the media, he said in the past, persons living with disabilities were given some amounts of money to cater for themselves and their families.
As time went on, the government presented PWDs with logistics so as to enable them work to make a living.
This, he said, goes a long way to alleviate the plight of such vulnerable people and reduce the burden on their immediate families in the provision of their basic necessities.
He added that the government’s strategy was to use the Disability Fund to provide working tools and equipment to enable PWDs to either start or expand their businesses.
He encouraged the PWDs not to underrate their potentials and capabilities, and urged them to make effective use of the resources provided.
He assured them that the government, under President Akufo-Addo, would continue to place emphasis on PWDs, and added that the government has put in place more sustainable and efficient ways to assist them to contribute effectively to the development of the Municipality, and the country at large.
