The Member of Parliament (MP) for Sissala West, Mohammed Adams Sukparuhas, has appealed to his constituents to bury their differences and rally behind him to bring the needed development to the area.
“We may all have our differences, but what should be of great concern to all of us is the development of the constituency.”
He made this statement when presenting 100 bags of cement to the Jawia community as he marks 100 days in office during his “thank you” visit to the community to help complete a self-initiated health center project.
At a presentation ceremony at Jawia, the Sissala West legislator said the gesture was in response to the growing demand for a health facility in the area, which has eluded the residents for several decades. “In the run-up to the 2020 general elections, I promised to help improve the health situation in this area, because I understand what this community has been going through to access healthcare services. That is why I made this project a priority.”
Mr. Supkaru pledged to work with all relevant authorities to help improve the health situation in the Sissala West District.
The Jawia community and its adjoining villages, with more than 10,000 inhabitants, can only boast of a Community Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound that is inadequate to help solve the health needs of the inhabitants.
The inhabitants of the community are forced to travel far to Gwollu, the Sissala West District capital, to access health services.
Unable to cope with the situation, after several failed appeals to the government, the Jawia community started a building project which will hopefully convert the CHPS compound to a health center.
The MP’s donation is, therefore, was aimed at augmenting the efforts of the Jawia community to scale up the health needs of the district.
The Assembly Member for the Jawia-Liplimeh electoral area, Salifu Gbemmie, thanked the MP for the gesture.
While thanking him for his continued support for the area, he cited the construction of a 100 metres road from the Jawia town to the health facility, and the provision of street lights as key interventions by the MP that have positively impacted on the residents.
