The Member of Parliament (MP) for the Tarkwa Nsuaem Constituency, George Mireku Duker, has together with the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for the area, Ben Kesse, commissioned a new and modern car park at the Tarkwa main station.
The car park, an initiative of the Tarkwa Nsuaem Legislator, was started some years ago. The commissioning ceremony saw dignitaries and the general public present.
Addressing the gathering, the MCE did not mince words when he said that the commissioning was an initiative of the Legislator when he was the MCE in 2008, but later abandoned.
MP George Mireku Duker hailed the project and expressed the belief that it would go a long way to relieve drivers and passengers who uses the car park.
Later in the day, the Legislator made donations to the Muslim community.
The items included 25 bags of sugar, 25 bags of rice, 25 cartons of milk, 10 boxes of Lipton Tea, and 10 cartons of Milo drink.
This is an exercise the Tarkwa Nsuaem Legislator has been embarking upon to support the Muslim community whenever they embark the fast period starts. The Chief Imam, who received the items, thanked the MP, assuring him that the Muslim community would not forget this gesture.
MP Duker, however, promised 250 bags of cement upon a request from the Chief Imam for the completion of their Mosque.
