The Krontihene for Adantia, a suburb of Odumasi in the Sunyani West Municipal, capital of the Bono Region, Nana Kwame Boakye, has appealed for support to construct a health post for his community.
Nana Boakye told Sunyani-based Ark FM in an interview that he had offered his two rooms to be used as a health post, which was not appropriate, hence, the decision of the Assembly Member, Unit Committee and the chiefs to start a health post project.
He, however, indicated that due to financial constraint, progress of the project is slow, hence, calling on the Sunyani West Municipal Assembly, and the Member of Parliament for the area, Mr Ignatius Baffour Awuah, to, as a matter of urgency, come to their aid to support them complete the project.
“We need our MP, Assembly and other stakeholders to help us construct the health post to enable the people in Adantia get access to good health care,” he said.
Touching on other challenges facing his community, Nana Kwame Boakye stated that poorly constructed drainage systems within the town centre have been causing flooding in various homes whenever it rains.
He noted that the gutters are small and cannot contain the flow of water when it rains. He said they had made complaints to the various authorities to resolve the challenge, but to no avail.
