The Member of Parliament for Bosomtwi Constituency in the Ashanti region, Dr.Yaw Osei Adutwum, has given his support for the education of the vulnerable in the society by paying fees for thirty students from his constituency, who have gained admission into the University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at Tarkwa in the Western region.
The philanthropic gesture of the MP is aimed at providing future manpower for the development of Bosomtwe.
“My vision of ensuring that Bosomtwe gets100 engineers within the next ten years are on course”, he said.
“This morning, I bid farewell to 30 students from Bosomtwe who are on their way to University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) at Tarkwa”, he tweeted.
According to him, the excitement on the faces of the beneficiaries and their parents who had assembled in front of his Constituency Office building was profound.
Charging them to study hard and pursue success, Dr.Adutwum noted that these students are going to pursue various courses in Engineering fully funded by his humble self and that their fees have been paid, accommodation provided and a free bus ready to convey them to Tarkwa.
