Wards of all 157 polling station executives of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Subin Constituency have benefitted from a scholarship scheme funded from the Member of Parliament’s (MP’s) Common Fund.
The scholarship was spread over three years, from 2017 through 2018 to 2019.
Additionally, wards of 20 electoral area party coordinators also received scholarship awards within the same period.
The said scholarship scheme also benefited 17 constituency executive committee officers in 2018 and 2019.
The Member of Parliament for Subin, Eugene Boakye Antwi, told Ashanti File that the gesture was in appreciation of the stewardship of the party executives and their contributions to the growth of the party.
It is also a means of promoting education, and further boosts the government’s flagship Free Senior High School policy.
According to the MP, 10 chiefs and palaces in the constituency also enjoyed the scholarship scheme in 2017.
MP Boakye Antwi has also sponsored 14 Moslem pilgrims to the Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca in 2017 and 2019.
The Regional Police Command also received 10 motorcycles from the MPs Common Fund.
The Metropolitan Health Directorate also had its fair share of the MPs largesse, when it received six desktop computers, five units of Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS), a heavy duty photocopier, and a printer, the MP recounted.
