The Member of Parliament (MP) for Oforikrom Constituency, Emmanuel Kwabena Marfo, has cut the sod for the reconstruction of a bridge across the Subin River to link Emena, Apemso and Kodiekrom.
Another project will cover the construction of drains and asphalting of roads from Emena through Kotei, Apemso, Kokobeng to Anwomaso in the Oforikrom Municipality.
The two projects, estimated to cost GH¢450,000 and GH¢360,000 respectively, are expected to be completed in 46 weeks.
MP Marfo told the chiefs, assembly members and some opinion leaders at the two separate sod cutting ceremonies that the government would ensure that development is evenly spread across all corners of the country.
He mentioned the construction of a six-unit classroom for the Emena community, as well computers and a bungalow for the police at Appiadu, and the provision of boreholes and street lights in all the communities.
The MP appealed to the constituents to vote for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the upcoming general elections in December, to enable the government continue with the good works it was delivering to the people.
The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Oforikrom, Gloria Temmah Gambrah, commended the MP for being supportive and industrious, and urged him to keep it up.
The Assembly Member for the Deduako-Apemso Electoral Area, Richard Nyarkoh, noted that the reconstruction of the collapsed bridge and the roads had come as a relief to the constituents.
The contractor for the projects, Mr. Joseph Sasu Agyeman of Faradel Construction Ghana Limited, assured the people that the projects would be completed on schedule.
The Chief of Kodiekorm, Nana Kofi Owusu Addo, thanked the MP and the MCE their roles in the implementation of the projects.
