The lawmaker, who doubles as the Majority Chief Whip and leader of Ghana’s delegation to the ECOWAS Parliament, registered at the Sunyani High Street Polling Center ‘A’.
Ameyaw Cheremeh, as early as 5:00am, had queued, and went through the necessary processes before he was issued with the voters registration card.
After the registration centre, he told Nimdee FM’s reporter, Ampaabeng Kyeremeh, that he decided to go through the process to get registered to enable him experience how it works.
The Sunyani East Legislator said he was impressed with the level of comportment and orderliness at the registration center, adding, “social distancing was adhered to as a measure to protect the people from contracting the Covid-19.”
He also observed that the registration had, so far, been peaceful in the constituency, though he admitted there were some challenges at some registration centers, because the EC officials are dealing with machines.
He, therefore, appealed to applicants to exercise restraint any time the system delays to ensure a successful exercise.
The MP also asked the people to wait till the registration gets to their centers, and advised them to adhere to the safety protocols to protect themselves from the novel Covid-19.
Ameyaw Cheremeh appealed to Ghanaians to register in their numbers to participate in the upcoming December presidential and parliamentary polls.
“Ghanaians with sound minds that have attained 18 years should try as much as possible to register, so that they would not be denied their greatest civil right of voting on December 7,” he said.
Ameyaw Cheremeh said that it would be wrong for anybody to intentionally refuse to register in this important national exercise, reiterating that everybody should register.
