The Korle Bu Teaching Hospital (KBTH) Administration has suspended non-emergency surgical cases for the next two weeks, following some of its staff been infected with Covid-19.
This, according to the hospital, is to protect its clients and the rest of the staff who are still at post and providing care to patients.
The suspension will also enable the hospital to reorganize for the resumption of regular services.
The statement released today and signed by the Head of Public Relations, Mustapha Salifu addes that “only dire emergencies will be attended to Within this period.”
He, therefore, requested sister health facilities to refer only dire surgical emergencies (Surgery, ENT, Maxillofacnal and Obstetrics) to Korle Bu during the suspension period.
However, other parts of the Hospital are still in full operation.
