Oguakro Afrane Okese IV, Omanhene of the Ejisu Traditional Area, has expressed his unqualified apologies to the Member of Parliament (MP) for Ejisu, Kwabena Owusu Aduoni.
The Chief had used unprintable words against the MP when he (chief) gave audience to the MP-elect after the New Patriotic Party (NPP) primaries on June 20, 2020.
But, upon consideration, Nana Afrane Okese has rendered his sincere apologies in obvious reaction to the demands of the youth of Besease, who took a serious view of the rain of insults the Chief hurled at their MP, and gave him (Chief) one week to retract and apologise to the MP.
The Chief admitted that his conduct was an act of disrespect towards the MP, hence, the expression of his honest and sincere apology.
An undated letter of apology signed by the embattled Chief said: “I genuinely feel very sorry and sad on my part as Omanhene of Ejisu Traditional Area to have made such [a] derogatory comment about you in my speech.”
The Chief noted that as a son and member of the Kyidom Division of Traditional Area, his comments were just below the belt, and pleaded with the MP to put the matter behind him.
