The National Entrepreneurship & Innovation Programme (NEIP) and the Ministry of Business Development, in collaboration with the Wenchi Municipal Assembly in the Bono Region, has held a training workshop on business development and entrepreneurship for start-ups and entrepreneurs at Wenchi
Under the supervision of the Office of the President, the training forms part of the government’s initiative to strengthen the private sector and enhance the economic standards of the people.
The day’s workshop was aimed at imparting knowledge and equipping entrepreneurs and start-ups with the requisite self-employed and business expansion skills for economic self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods.
Opening the workshop, the Wenchi Municipal Coordinating Director, Edward Abazing, on behalf of the Municipal Chief Executive, underscored the critical role the private sector plays in the development of the country, for which reason the government aims at empowering the citizens to be self-sufficient.
He advised the participants to be focused and committed in their field of work, and assured them of the government’s budgeted funds to support their businesses.
A Business Consultant and Chartered Accountant, Eric Amponsah, trained the participants in Entrepreneurship Discovery, Market Research, Business Plan, Financing, Branding, Customer Relations, Profit Maximisation, and Business Security, amongst others.
Some of the participants expressed satisfaction at the benefits derived from the workshop.
