Former Board Chairman of the National Communications Authority (NCA) Eugene Baffoe-Bonnie and former Director General, William Tetteh Tevie, and one other person, Alhaji Salifu Osman, a former National Security operative have been sentenced to a total of sixteen (16) year jail term.
An Accra Commercial High Court, presided over by Justice Eric Kyei Baffour found them guilty of causing financial loss to the state to the tune of 4 million dollars.
Justice Eric Kyei Baffour sentenced the accused persons as follows, A1, is sentenced to six years in prison, A2 to five years and A4 to five years in prison with hard labour, a Starrfmonline reports.
The Attorney General has been ordered to seize assets belonging to the convicted persons estimated to be 3 million dollars.
The three (3) convicted are out of the five (5) accused persons who have been on trial in the case of “The Republic versus Eugene Baffoe-Bonnie and four others”.
