SINOHYDRO Corporation Ltd, MPSA Roads and Bridges, a road construction firm constructing Jasikan-Dodo-Pepesu portion of the eastern corridor road has presented Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) to the Kadjebi District Directorate of Health Services to help fight the COVID-19 pandemic in the district.
The items valued at GHC40,000.00 include 3,000 pieces of facemasks, 40 set of protective clothing, 40 pieces of protective goggles, 60 bottles of hand sanitizers, 75 bottles of rubbing alcohol, 40 bottles of antiseptics, six boxes of disposable gloves and 20 cartons of water.
Presenting the items at Kadjebi in the Oti region, the Project Manager of SINOHYDRO Corporation Ltd, Mr. Bruce Lee, said the gesture forms part of the corporate responsibility of the Company to provide the needed assistant to the people especially during the time that the region records coronavirus cases.
Mr. Lee urged the people in the Kadjebi District to take the necessary measures through the District Health Directorate to prevent them from contracting the disease saying the people of China faced similar challenge confronting the people in the Oti region and the country in general, but won the battle through the combined efforts of all.
He, therefore, advised the Kadjebi District Directorate of Health Services to use the items for the intended purpose to help prevent health workers from being infected with the disease as well as to help protect the people from contracting the COVID-19, which posed a major problem to the district, the region and the nation in general.
Receiving the items, the Kadjebi District Director of Health Services, Nana Takyi, expressed gratitude to SINOHYDRO Corporation Ltd for the heeding their request for assistance.
Nana Takyi urged the people in the area to strictly observe the measures put in place to prevent them from contracting the disease such as adherence to social distancing , frequent washing of hands under running water, the use of sanitizers, avoid hugging and hand shake to help fight the disease.
The Kadjebi District Chief Executive (DCE), Mr. Maxwell Kofi Asiedu appealed to the people to take education from the health authorities more seriously to enable them to protect themselves against the disease, saying government was committed to addressing the coronavirus problem confronting the nation
