A Ghanaian comedian, Derrick Kobina Bonney, known in showbiz as DKB, has said President Akufo-Addo has turned the presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, into a ‘West Africa Examinations Council (WAEC) examiner.’
According the hilarious comedian, it appears President Akufo-Addo has performed tremendously well, leaving his main opponent, John Mahama, with no message to campaign with.
DKB, in a video going viral on social media, begged the President to have sympathy on the NDC, saying, with a crying face, that “opposition is not easy.”
His video followed President Akufo-Addo’s announcement in his 5th address on measures being taken to combat the novel Coronavirus that the government would absorb nationwide water bills for citizens for the next three months.
President Akufo-Addo also mentioned that frontline health workers would enjoy free buses to and from work, they will also receive a 50% increment of their salaries, and enjoy a tax holiday all for three months, as well as a GH¢350,000 insurance package. These are to boost the morale of the frontline health workers.
However, by way of creating humour in every situation, as every comedian would do, DKB did the video which social media received with sense of delight.
“You have increased 50% salary; are you a sugar daddy? Free transport; if they walk is it your matter? Don’t do that. Think about our (NDC) feelings.
“Look at what you have turned John Mahama into – confused about policy. Every day I will review this, I will review that. You’ve turned him (Mahama) into WAEC examiner. How can you be doing this to our party, Nana Addo,” he mocked.
