A number of residents in Wassa Amenfi District in the Western region have been rendered homeless following a heavy rainfall that hit the area on Wednesday.
The rain, which came along with a windstorm did not spare Asankrangwa Senior High School, Municipal Education Office and several other individual houses. Nearby communities such as Patakro, Woman No Good, Odumasi, Breman, Amoaku, and Asuoshiam also had roofing of their school building ripped off.
Two (2) people reportedly sustained various degrees of injury at Amoaku and are currently receiving treatment at Samatex hospital at Samreboi. It would be recalled that the Ghana Metrological Agency on Wednesday warned of severe rainstorm that was expected to hit certain parts of the country.
Municipal Chief Executive, George Agyiri, and NADMO Director, Mr Osway have appealed to those affected by the rain to calm down as they are the process of coming to their aid.
