There is a manhunt for one of the eight Guineans who tested positive for COVID-19.
The manhunt followed the escape of the patient from the quarantine centre on Monday.
The patient was able to escape, though there were two police and two soldiers guarding the guest house where the infected persons were being quarantined. The woman vanished leaving behind her belongings.
The Northern Regional Minister, Salifu Sa-eed made the disclosure at a news conference today, and described it as “a very disturbing situation because she is positive with the novel coronaviurs.”
The Minister said, “Since yesterday, up till this morning, I have not slept, with my security people. I directed that they should use all their networks to be able to track the persona down and get her.” .

At a press briefing on Monday, the Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah indicated that these foreign nationals will be sent back to their home countries for treatment.
