The Walias last Friday played their first match of the qualifying campaign in an away match against Ghana.
The game that was hosted at the Cape Coast Stadium saw Ethiopia losing by a lone goal to nil at the end of a tough 90 minutes.
Playing their second match in the qualifiers today, the Walias of Ethiopia have recovered from the opening day defeat to record a vital 1-0 win against Zimbabwe.
On the matchday, a solo equalizer from Asechalew Temene did the trick for the home team to earn the side the maximum points.
Courtesy of the result, Ethiopia are now back in the race for the top spot. The Walias are third on the Group G standings but just one point behind group leaders South Africa. Read Full Story
