High ranking Member of Parliament’s Foreign Affairs Committee and Member of Parliament for North Tongu district of the Volta Region, Hon. Sam Okudzeto Ablakwa has accused President Akufo-Addo of successfully degrading the Ghana Armed Forces into citizenship inspectorial units.
The Honorable Member of Parliament made this accusation during a press briefing which was held at Aflao in the Volta Region in solidarity with the people of the Ketu South who have been leaving in fear following a massive military deployment to the municipality.
Hon. Ablakwa indicated that the Ghana Armed Forces is recognized and always showered with praises from the United Nations for their professionalism in peacekeeping operations across the world.
However, he said that the use of the soldiers by political actors to do works that they are not mandated to do is a way of reducing their standard and that is what President Akufo-Addo has succeeded in doing.
The former Deputy Minister of Education under the Mahama administration further blasted his fellow lawmaker, K.T Hammond who is Member of Parliament for Adansi Asokwa for his tribal comment that had already drawn a lot of condemnations to him.
He accused him (K.T Hammond) of distorting the history of the Voltarians.
Ablakwa, however, stated categorically clear that they together with their elders and Chiefs are for peace and asked the Akufo-Addo led government to leave them to live in peace.
