The clash headlines supporting bouts announced by BabyJet Promotions for Saturday’s encounter between Emmanuel ‘Gameboy’ Tagoe and Russian Vyacheslav Guzev for the vacant WBO Global lightweight and IBF International lightweight titles.
The fight promoters have announced seven undercards to herald the all-important ‘farewell fight’ for Tagoe, who is expected to make his final ring appearance in Ghana before relocating to the United States
The bill, dubbed Asamoah Gyan Fight Night 2, will have six other supporting bouts, including a 10-round super middleweight contest between Agoe Ashong, alias Odorkor Tyson, and Idris Amadu.
Sheriff Mohammed will fight Ezekiel Annan in an eight-round super bantamweight contest, while Moses Dodzi squares off with Sherif Seidu in an eight-round super featherweight fight on the night.
In another encounter involving two fighters of different nationalities, Ghana’s Dodzi Kermah will meet Beninois Ekpesso Djamiou in an eight-round super welterweight bout.
The night will come alive when hard-hitting Mubarak Abubakar engages Boateng Agyemang in a six-round middleweight contest, followed by an eight-round super middleweight clash involving Prince Okoe Nartey and Kofi Johnson.
Meanwhile, Australian Ignatius Masallidis will be at the centre of the ring for the main bout involving Tagoe and Gusev with South African Clifford Nkosinathi and Patrick Mkondiwa of Zimbabwe as ringside the judges.
They will be supported by a third Ghanaian judge who is yet to be named. Read Full Story
