Acheampong told the Graphic Sports yesterday that reports linking Coach Fabin to Ashgold was a fallacy as their coaching job was not vacant for the club to contemplate recruiting the former Black Starlets coach.
Tanasijevic, who was drafted from Berekum Chelsea to take over from Charles Kwabla Akonnor after he was fired last season, has a running contract with the Obuasi club who are not ready to part ways with the Serbian, according to the Ashgold CEO.
“We have not engaged in negotiations with Paa Kwasi Fabin because we already have enough coaches at our disposal. We currently have Svetislav and his assistant, as well as other coaches in the junior team so we don’t need any coach,” Acheampong stated.
The Ashgold CEO said the club’s management was focused on developing their players to make them marketable during the next transfer window.
He said the numerous friendly games the club was engaging in was mainly to keep their players fit and ready for the international market and hinted that Ashgold would transfer some of their players when the transfer window opened.
Acheampong, however, refused to name the particular players they were likely to ship out during the next transfer window but said all their players were of good quality and anyone of them could be sold.
“All our players are marketable and all of them are good, so we are not focusing on one particular player but we intend to sell whichever player catches the attention of any foreign team.” Read Full Story
